CEMA Hurricane Irma Update

Please read the information below.  No re-entry information is available at this time.

Hurricane Irma is currently 146 miles from Chatham County. It is moving North-Northwest at 17 MPH.

The National Weather Service reports a Tropical Storm Warning, Storm Surge Warning, and Tornado Watch are in effect for Chatham County.  A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for Coastal Chatham County.

The Talmadge Bridge has been closed by the Georgia Department of Transportation.

Emergency services in Chatham County are back to normal operations.

CEMA will be working with the Department of Transportation and other local partners to assess damage from the storm to ensure it is safe for everyone to return. We will announce re-entry information as it becomes available.
